My dear friend, I hate to tell you this…
but you look Crispy.
You look fried.
You look exhausted.
You look dried-up, prune-like, shrivelled, from all your striving for ‘success’, and all this working that you do.
You look tired,
I wish I could scoop you up in a soft blue blanket, cradle you and blow sleep dust onto you…so that you could rest for a long, long time.
I wish you would go to bed earlier and sleep for 10+ hours each night, for a year or two.
I would like to transport you to this orchard from which I write you and lovingly force you into a strict regime of quiet, wind, sun, forest, hammock, nap, juice, food, outdoor shower, sauna, lots of water and maybe a little bit of exercise.
So that you could have the time and space to come down off the buzz of productivity that is so normal to you, that you don’t even realize it’s there. And gradually receive the messages from your inner self, that you are truly exhausted and running on fumes.
And that there is a easier way to operate that you are ready for…and that all of Life itself is ready, excited, for you to embrace.
I wish you would go home and see your previous habits for what they are, insanity. And naturally adjust to your new way that honours your nature, your brilliance, your relationships and your body.
I would love to see you let your business activities diminish and then find their groove, their right-size.
But damn, you are so smart. And your work is so amazing. You’ve got some big things to achieve out there in the wide world.
And you’ve got this business-thing figured out, so you’re making good money. And when the money is flowing, that’s so much fun, isn’t it?
I’ve been watching you, reading your blog, and enjoying your posts on Facebook. I resonate with what you are doing and saying. And, I know you’re the real-deal…you’re busy helping people and making a difference.
Truly. I’m inspired by who you are and what you are doing.
And I’m also not inspired. I’m saddened. I’m sad to see you running yourself to the ground. I’m sad to see your livelihood compromising your aliveness.
And beyond that, I’m sad that all of your followers, those who admire you and your brilliant, important message, are not only ingesting your genius, but your shadow of over-work and abuse of your precious life-force.
I’m sad that they see you and look up to you and take in the message: “In order for me to be successful in business like they are, I also need to over-work and compromise my health and well-being.”
No one is thinking this consciously, but they are picking it up energetically, that’s how conditioning works. It’s the messages that we don’t say that people most learn from our example.
Our followers are literally eating our energies and picking up far more than we can imagine they know. And then, naturally, they emulate our example in order to get the result that they think they want.
“We take on both the gifts and the shadows of our Mentor” – Ali Shanti’s Wise Friend said.
I know you don’t want to hear this…
And I know you’re too busy to even read this,
But damn, have you looked in the mirror recently?
Dude, if nothing more than for the sake of your vanity, it’s time to take it down a few notches, or maybe even, a lot of notches. It’s time to re-evaluate your relationship with work, livelihood and productivity.
It’s time for you to STOP! Just stop.
Stop doing so much. It’s insane. And it is aging you.
I’ve worked with many Crispy people like you before. There was Donna…
I didn’t know she was crispy when I first met her. She was a successful IT professional who had a 6-figure income, drove a BMW, had a beautiful house with all sorts of fancy things in it, happy marriage and thriving extra-curricular life including being a bad-ass on a roller-derby team, outdoor adventures and pursuing spiritual interests.
She had it all. And yet, she had the signs of crispiness… tired eyes, an auric ‘dryness’. It’s like an energetic presence of “I’m all used up!”
After working with her for awhile, she became deeply intune with how to really be honest with the use of her life-force and nowadays the crispiness is gone. She is full of life.
And she looks it!
The garden of her life has fewer things to tend to, and she gives them all the life-sustaining energy and attention that they require to truly thrive.
Take that in dear Crispy-One…Less is More.
That’s it. I’m not going to offer you a solution here. I just want you to know that I see you and I think you look tired. I think it’s time that someone told you to stop.
This is a loving wake-up call, my friend.
You’re not looking so good. And your tired eyes are screaming at me so loud, it’s hard to hear the important words you have to say.
